Rising Energy Bills

Insulating your home to Save Heat Loss - Will Save You Money!

What’s more, cutting down the energy your home wastes will help tackle climate change at the same time. That’s because home energy use is responsible for over a quarter of all emissions of CO2. If you waste less energy and only consume that which you need efficiently, you generate less CO2.

Cut Your CO2 Emisions with Warmroof

The Warmroof System plays a part in creating a safer environment for future generations. The Warmroof System:

  • reduces fuel bills, so reducing the emissions of harmful pollutants into the atmosphere
  • is applied by a spray that is CFC free
  • is the most efficient form of insulation available today
  • reduces heat-loss through the roof by up to 80%

An Independent Review

An independent review of the impact of thermal insulation on global warming was carried out recently. The results were reported in “Thermal Insulation and its role in Carbon Dioxide Reduction”, by Caleb Management Services.

It was recognised that thermal insulation can play a key role in the cost effective reduction of carbon dioxide emissions in Europe and save up to 350 million tonnes per annum by 2010.
Retrofitting of uninsulated or poorly insulated properties provides by far the biggest contribution to carbon dioxide savings.

The report also pointed out that insulation materials should be highly efficient, in terms of performance at low thickness levels, should have a high strength to weight ratio, should be easy to apply, fibre-free and resistant to moisture.

The key requirements listed above admirably describe the properties of the Warmroof System.
One of the most important aspects of spray-applied polyurethane foam is the fact that it produces a seamless blanket of insulation, without joints. Any jointed system, including insulation boards, gives rise to a potential weak point, leading to a significant loss of insulation value.

The government supports thermal insulation and has reduced the VAT payable on your Warmroof installation.

Energy expert Solar Home Energy and No1 Roofing Company Warmroof make for perfect partners!

TWO Ringwood-based companies, Warmroof Systems and Solar Home Energy have been taken over by a consortium of management and new investors.

Domestic renewable energy specialists Solar Home Energy and proffesional roof insulation firm Warmroof Systems will keep their separate identities under the deal and will continue to be based in Ringwood.

Known as a BIMBO – buy-in management buy-out – the complex deal sees investors Arun Sahajpal and Martin Jackson buying into the business and joining the existing management team. They will take up the positions of managing director and finance director respectively.

John Oddi also joins to chair the newly formed company and Robin Tarrant-Willis will continue in his role as Sales Director for both companies.

Solar Home Energy supplies and installs domestic solar hot water systems whilst Warmroof is the market leader in the supply and installation of sprayed foam loft insulation. Together the two firms employ 105 people at sites in Ringwood and Bournemouth.

Mr Sahajpal said: “Both Solar Home Energy and Warmroof have fantastic potential and the new management team will be looking to expand into both new geographical areas and markets. We are committed to strengthening the group as a whole and to retaining the headquarters in Ringwood.”

Backed by Barclays Ventures and the Bank of Ireland, the deal was put together by corporate finance specialists Watersheds. With this backing this is a big leap forward and will lead the group into into the next phase of its development.

    Warmroof Turn off Computers

Warmroof currently has 150 company computers and have made a conscious decision to make sure all computers are shut down before the office is closed for the night. This means that Warmroof’s employees are saving around 51 tonne’s of CO2 emmissons per year and saving enough electricity to power 18 homes.

If every UK homeowner shut down their computer and turned it off at the wall overnight it would save enough electricity to power around 1.4 million homes. It could also save every computer owning homeowner £70 per year.
So to help you, your colleagues, and family and reduce your Carbon Footprint remember to power down.

PC Tips to help cut your Carbon Footprint:

  • Turn off your computer at night and when you are not using it for several hours.
  • Enable the Power Management feature for your monitor.
  • Turn off your monitor when you are not using your computer for 15 minutes or longer.
  • If you buy a new computer, consider a laptop. Laptops use only 1/4 the energy.
  • Consider switching your monitor to a flat screen. They use only 1/3 the energy.

    Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

The Warmroof Group are committed to providing environmentally friendly energy saving solutions whether it be our foam roof insulation, or our Solar Thermal system, and it seems that Britain as a whole are also now showing a similar commitment to the environment.

On 20th June 2007, the Government launched a new website dedicated to reducing your “Carbon Footprint”, it contains a wealth of information for saving energy and reducing your CO2 emmissions.

On the day of launch, the site overloaded with in excess of 20,000 people registering their details and signing up to use the online carbon footprint calculator.

The servers on the site have been upgraded and more bandwidth now added to improve performance and sustain the level of interest that the site has attracted. You can visit the Government’s site here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Environmentandgreenerliving/actonco2/DG_067197

The new site clearly shows how installing roof insulation can save energy by reducing heat loss, indeed many of our customers report around a 30% saving on heating bills after installation of our Rigid Foam system. For more information, please visit our website at: http://www.warmroof.co.uk/
